Why are you procrastinating?

entrepreneurship leadership Sep 06, 2021

If you’ve ever heard the saying “everything you’ve ever wanted is on the other side of fear”, it’s often true but fear doesn’t always present itself as fear - it’s often in the form of procrastination.

How many times have you beat yourself up over the thought that you’re being lazy because you're procrastinating?

The truth is that your body and mind are working together to keep you safe.

I don’t procrastinate too often but when I do, it sends major red flags.

I immediately begin to ask myself - what am I afraid of? Why don’t I want to do this?

I talk to so many people each and every week who have put off creating videos for years because deep down there is some sort of fear attached - rational or otherwise.

The interesting thing I often find is that once you jump in front of the camera and do it a couple of times, you don’t even think about it anymore. It gets easier and easier and dare I say, becomes second nature.

We’re coming to the end of the financial year and I know that for many of you, you’ve spent the last year capturing footage and archiving it to “use later”, which we both know is likely never going to happen. Not without a gentle nudge anyway :)

Some of you have been putting off booking the studio because of all of your unanswered questions, such as How long will it take? What do I need to do to prepare? How much of this is going to fall on me? How do I script my videos? When will my videos be ready? How much does this cost?  Can you work within a budget?

And some of you are just now looking at the calendar and thinking “WHERE did the year go?!”

If you have unanswered questions, email me, DM me on social media, send an enquiry on the website, send smoke signals (because where there's smoke there's fire) - and I’ll answer any and all no matter how big or small. If you have archived footage, chat to me today before it’s too late and the fire from your hard work you put into capturing video goes to waste.

And finally, if you’re procrastinating, ask yourself why you might be afraid of being in front of the camera. More often than not it’s logistics and I am absolutely here to help you with that!

Let’s give this final few months everything we’ve got!

Stay Camera Confident!
