Enquiry to confirmed in under an hour

At 2pm on Friday afternoon, an enquiry landed with Mid-Western Living from a Newcastle-based agency asking whether the magazine offered photography.

Technically, no.

But under RS Productions? Absolutely.

Their client needed a photographer to pop out to a regional pub about 20 minutes from town and capture a handful of images. Nothing enormously complicated, but they needed someone local, reliable and available - and they needed to get it sorted.

By 2.20pm, I had the photographer.

By 2.30pm, the quote was with the agency.

By 3pm, the job was confirmed, paid and locked in.

I bloody love jobs like this.

Not because it was a huge production, but because it’s such a good example of what I’ve spent the past 15+ years building.

This same agency has needed support in Mudgee and Brisbane in the past month, and now their wider team knows that when a client needs photography or video somewhere around the country, they don’t necessarily need to start Googling suppliers in that location. They can call me.

I have trusted crews across Australia and further afield, which means I can pull the occasional rabbit out of a hat when a client needs something quickly. More importantly, they still get one point of contact, one standard of work and someone taking responsibility for making it happen.

Sometimes that means coordinating a multi-location video production across Australia and New Zealand.

Sometimes it means finding a brilliant photographer 20 minutes outside a regional town at 2pm on a Friday.
