What champagne taught me about chasing big dreams

I started my first business - my video production company - back in 2012. I’d just landed in Australia with a suitcase, a laptop, and one big dream.

I was fresh, hungry, and determined to make something out of nothing.

Early on I purchased a single bottle of Champagne, and that single bottle sat in my fridge with a Post-it stuck to it: “$10K month.” That was the goal. It felt massive at the time - almost too big.

But every time I opened that fridge, I saw it. And every time I pushed through the fear, took a risk, or said yes to something scary… it was for that moment. That pop. That celebration.

The day I hit that goal? You better believe I popped the cork, cried, danced in the kitchen, and toasted to what was next.

Since then? Let’s just say I don’t buy one bottle anymore.

These days, I buy a case. One bottle for every big, bold goal on the horizon - because the dreaming never stops. The bar keeps rising. And the celebrations? They matter more than ever.

That little ritual taught me a lot about business and life. Mostly this:

We don’t need more pressure. We need more joy.
We don’t need more hustle. We need intention.
And we definitely don’t need to do it all alone.
