Let me tell you something that’ll probably make the Aussie coffee crowd clutch their keep cups in horror…
When I’m in the city, I always stop for a Starbucks filter coffee.
Yep. Filter. Coffee. From Starbucks.
It’s my not-so-guilty pleasure – simple, familiar, and totally underrated.
And while I know Australia has some of the best coffee in the world… I still choose my humble long filter over a perfectly poured flat white.
Why? Because I like what I like. And I’m unapologetic about it.
I don’t usually buy coffee on the go (I can never guarantee it’ll taste how I like it), but when I spot that green mermaid logo? I'm in.
Side note: I used to work at Starbucks, and I actually helped open the first service station store in the UK.
The coffee might not be quite what it was back then—but the nostalgia and comfort? Still there.
Anyway, here’s the real message: you don’t have to follow the crowd.
In business. In branding. In coffee orders.
You can’t be everything to everyone.
I’m like Marmite (the British version of Vegemite) – you either love me or you don’t. And I’m totally okay with that.
Because when you own who you are (even the “controversial” bits), you make it easier for your dream clients to find you. Love you. Choose you.
