This is a very special episode - it marks a whole year of podcasting. And so, it is the perfect episode to share with you how I celebrate success, and how post-it notes are key to this!
As business owners and entrepreneurs we are so busy constantly striving for our goals, we forget that we need to give ourselves permission to stop and celebrate.
In this episode, I share the ritual that reminds me to stop and smell the roses when I achieve one of my goals. Every year I buy at least six bottles of champagne, stick my goals written on post-it notes onto each bottle, store them in the fridge and pop one whenever I reach that goal! It means that every time I open the fridge, I am reminded of my goals.
My champagne of choice is Veuve Clicquot, and I share with you the history of this brand and why it gives me all the feels!
This is an exciting time to start planning for 2023. I share the four things I’ll do in November to set me up for success in 2023.
My challenge to you is - how will you celebrate your successes? How will your goals and dreams be at the forefront of your mind, so that you make them a reality?
[00:38]: This is a very special episode - episode 52 - we have made it to an entire year of podcasting.
[1:30]: In episode 50, I shared with Erika Cramer, the Queen of Confidence, that I plan and celebrate my goals every year by putting post-it notes on bottles of champagne in my fridge.
[1:56]: As entrepreneurs and business owners we do really badly at stopping and smelling the roses.
[2:12]: I am a visual person - I love to mood board, have mantras and have reminders of the reason I’m doing things.
[3:10]: I put everything I want to achieve on my mood board, which then becomes the background to all my computer screens. Everyday I’m reminded of what I’m striving for.
[4:18]: For the last ten years I have purchased a case of my favourite champagne - Veuve Clicquot. I share why I got into this champagne and the story behind the brand.
[5:44]: There were so many doubters of Madame Clicquot. Every time I open a bottle of Veuve Clicquot I am reminded of the strength and courage of Madame Clicquot striving to build the business of her dreams.
[7:38]: I share the ritual I have every year of buying 6-12 bottles of champagne, writing out my goals on pink post-its, sticking them to the champagne boxes and storing them in the fridge, so I see them everytime I open the fridge.
[8:16]: I give examples of some of my goals - hitting the seven figure mark, buying a house.
[9:37]: As business owners and entrepreneurs are constantly striving, so we need to give ourselves permission to stop, celebrate and be excited.
[10:28]: This is an exciting time to start planning for 2023 and I share the four things I’ll do in November to set me up for success in 2023.
[14:20]: Write down a list of 52 things you want to do, and tick them off as you go.
[15:42]: My challenge to you is - how will you celebrate your successes? How will your goals and dreams be at the forefront of your mind, so that you make them a reality.
[16:07]: I am living my absolute dream life, running the most incredible business and have the most supportive family that enables me to do what I do.
[16:41]: Cheers to the end of this episode, - I would love it if you would share with me the way you celebrate your landmark goals and smashing your 2023 goals.
