How do you rebuild when you’ve hit rock bottom?

It can feel impossible to start to pull the pieces of your life back together after the death of a loved one, divorce, heartbreak, losing your job and so many other catastrophic challenges in life.

In this episode, I’m chatting with the inspirational Rebecca Chappell. Bec is the founder of Plum Marketing Solutions and the host of the podcast ‘Beautiful Not Broken’. Bec’s podcast is centred around rebuilding your best life after hitting rock bottom.

Bec has become an advocate for breaking down the stigma of mental health and empowering others by giving them hope and information when grieving a loved one. We’re discussing Bec’s own journey going through death, divorce and losing her job. She made the decision to show up with compassion and empathy and bravely made the leap to start her own business and live purposely.

This episode is perfect for you if you’re struggling with life’s challenges or know someone who is. Don’t try to handle everything on your own - let yourself feel empowered by Bec’s wisdom and share your feelings with others.

Topics discussed:

[2:23]: Bec has shared her entire story from rock bottom to living the life she wants to lead through her personal brand and podcast ‘Beautiful Not Broken’.

[3:11]: Bec talks about the challenges she was facing in 2020. She had no idea how to rebuild her life after getting fired and her ex-husband leaving her. She decided to open her own business.

[4:24]: Bec has always struggled with anxiety and depression. It was brought on from the loss of a close friend and her father.

[5:12]: She learned to face the moment head-on when you feel like you’re broken. See it as an opportunity. This is where the idea from ‘Beautiful Not Broken’ came from.

[6:54]: Previous episode - Life is tough but so are you with Briony Benjamin

[7:56]: Bec’s separation from her ex-husband was very long and drawn out. When her ex-husband’s father passed away, she was able to empower him with information about losing a loved one.

[9:52]: From going through her divorce and losing her father, Bec realised she could help others by giving them hope and letting them know they’re not alone.

[12:13]: We should celebrate life. It’s so important to spend time with the people we love.

[16:14]: Bec shares how she handled challenges and everything that came along.

[17:30]: When someone is lashing out at you, it’s not about you. You can control how you show up but not others.

[20:04]: Don’t try to handle everything on your own.

[21:38]: Bec goes for a run in the bush to work through how she’s feeling.

[23:40]: Bec now truly believes that she’d rather be single than in the wrong relationship.

[25:26]: The lessons we don’t pick up will keep replaying until we figure them out.

[26:42]: Where to find Bec.
